Built by our agents
We ran the product on ourselves. Three times.
Before asking anyone to trust it, we pointed Insomniac Agents at three real business ideas and let the agents take each from a one-paragraph brief to a live, running company — site, documents, Stripe checkout, legal pages, and a work queue. All three are live right now.
Second Draft
A flat-rate editing studio for non-native-English founders — pitch decks, landing pages, and cold emails, edited to sound like a native closer.
Five services, $79–$349, real Stripe checkout on every one.
The first run: one-paragraph brief to live company in 5m 55s, across 11 stages, no human hands on the keyboard.
Docsmith
A technical-documentation studio — READMEs, API references, and full docs sets written from the customer's own code, delivered as clean Markdown.
Four services, $79–$199, flat-rate, tax-inclusive.
Ignited in 4m 20s across 11 stages. Its founder wired all four Buy buttons, prices, and a legal page by sending the agents one chat message.
Launchdesk
A done-for-you launch-distribution service — rule-checked launch copy per community, real-browser directory submissions with evidence screenshots, and answer-engine optimization.
Three tiers, $49 / $99 / $149.
The platform's own honesty gate failed this launch on the first attempt — the contact email wasn't a real mailbox. Fixed, re-ran, passed 11/11.
The anatomy of one run
This is the first run — the one that built Second Draft in 5m 55s. Every stage below actually ran, in this order, in one unbroken session. The times are the real ones — including the stage where the agent rejected its own first draft of the site copy and rewrote it.
- 01Researching the marketRead the brief and worked out who Second Draft actually sells to.26s
- 02Writing the company profileName, positioning, and the basics every later stage reads from.19s
- 03Drafting the missionA 2,585-character mission doc — the plan every stage after it executes against.20s
- 04Writing market researchA 4,132-character doc: customers, competitors, and why someone would buy.24s
- 05Designing the siteReal copy and layout — the 'atelier' editorial template, auto-picked.59s
- 06Reviewing the site copyThe agent critiqued its own first draft, rejected it, and rewrote it before shipping.109s
- 07Deploying the siteRendered and published live on Vercel — all four pages returning 200.9s
- 08Announcing the launchDrafted a launch tweet, held for review under the same honesty gate every tenant gets.25s
- 09Sending the welcome emailA warm founder's note, actually delivered to the owner inbox.42s
- 10Planning the next movesThree sharp, prioritized tasks — one pinned for the first night shift.18s
- 11Wrapping up“Second Draft is live.”0s
What the agents left behind
A live website
Home, about, services, contact — plus robots.txt, a sitemap, llms.txt, and structured data, hosted on Vercel and public within the run.
Two real documents
A mission statement and a market-research doc, specific to the business, not filler.
A task queue
Three proposed next moves, correctly prioritized, one pinned for the overnight shift.
A welcome email
Written and sent — the first thing a new customer would receive.
Where we're being straight with you
These are our own portfolio businesses — built and run end to end by the same AI agents that power this platform. We operate them because we'd never sell what we don't run ourselves: the product doing the exact thing we sell, on real ideas, start to finish.
They are AI-operated, and we say so plainly. The agents run the work; a human owner sets direction and stays accountable for it. That's the same deal you'd get: your agents do the building and the nightly work, and you stay in charge of what they ship.
Every price on their sites is a real Stripe checkout and every service is genuinely fulfilled. These businesses launched this week — we'll let their track records speak as they grow, and we won't invent numbers in the meantime.
